Woodmoor
Woodmoor has grown into a thriving semi-rural community governed by the Woodmoor Improvement
Association. Since the mid-1980s, some of the open spaces have been replaced with housing developments offering newcomers amenities such as
excellent golf courses, parks and trails that complement its rural setting.
The
Woodmoor
Community Center is a gathering place housed in a renovated barn, offering classes for all ages and providing a
unique site for weddings, meetings and receptions. The Woodmoor Commons are areas within the community for designed for residents to enjoy.
Trails wind past Twin Ponds Commons, through fields of marsh grass, and around Hidden Pond, where a variety of birds can be seen. The Marsh,
the Meadows and
North Park are open grass spaces, Piney Trail is an up-hill challenge for most hikers one and
Toboggan Hill is a favorite place to sled in the winter.
Golf is a popular pastime in the Woodmoor and residents can choose from either public or private courses. Woodmoor Pines Golf Course is a private 18-hole 6,700-yard, par-72 course located
in the Woodmoor development east of I-25 and Monument. Nearby, King’s Deer public golf course
offers a challenging course dotted with bunkers and water hazards, located among the King’s Deer Subdivision. Glen Eagle Golf Club is a semi-private 18-hole
golf course featuring 7,276 yards of golf with a course rating of 74.2 and a slope rating of 132.
